       报告人简介 Dr. Joshua Schwartz is a Professor of Geology in the California State University Northridge Department of Geological Sciences, where he serves as the faculty director of the LA-ROCS mentoring program and co-director of the Geological Sciences Laser Ablation Laboratory.  He received his B.A. degree in Geology from Brown University (Minors in Ancient Languages and Near Eastern Archaeology), M.S. in Geology from Brown University, and Ph.D. in Geology from the University of Wyoming. He is a field- and laboratory-based petrologist who focuses his research on arc magmatic processes. Dr. Schwartzs expertise lies in using field observations and laboratory techniques to understand the magmatic construction of arcs, particularly in deep-crustal exposures. His research group is currently working on arc systems in the western United States, Argentina, and New Zealand.

       讲座内容:        

       1、Probing the 4-Dimensional Architecture of Zealandia with Zircon O and Hf Isotope Mapping

       通过大规模锆石 U-Pb、O 和 Hf 同位素数据,识别隐藏于年轻大陆弧之下的古老地壳与岩石圈结构,揭示持续数亿年的岩石圈继承性及其对后期岩浆活动的控制,并为 Rodinia 超大陆重建提供新的地质约束。

       2、Making Continental Crust During an Arc Flare-Up: Evidence from the Deep Roots of Zealandia

       以新西兰 Fiordland 出露的深部大陆弧根部为对象,重建大规模幔源岩浆输入、晶体累积、熔体抽取和深部岩浆晶粥演化过程,探讨大陆弧 flare-up 期间大陆地壳如何快速形成与分异。

       3、Raising the Rocky Mountains: A New Cretaceous Tectonic Paradigm for the Western US

       利用南加州岩基大量锆石和榍石 U-Pb 年龄,重新审视 Laramide 造山运动的启动时间与动力学机制,揭示晚白垩世大陆弧岩浆爆发、深部变质—变形与随后落基山脉形成之间的联系。

       4、Building the Lower Crust of a Continental Arc: The Southern California Batholith

       通过南加州大陆弧中—下地壳剖面,探讨幔源岩浆输入、沉积物底插、麻粒岩相变质、部分熔融和韧性剪切如何共同塑造大陆弧下地壳,揭示岩浆作用与深部地壳变形之间的耦合关系。
