20届国际介形类大会1号通知(First Circular of ISO 20

国际介形类大会第一次落地中国,将于2026817-21日在北京举行

Ostracoda, belonging to the subphylum Crustacea of the phylum Arthropoda, thrive in a wide range of modern aquatic environments. With a long evolutionary history extending from the Ordovician to the present and exceptionally rich modern and fossil records, they serve as an important archive for studies of biological evolution, environmental and climatic change. The first International Ostracod Symposium was held in 1963, and the meeting has since convened every four years, with 19 editions successfully organized to date. The 20th International Symposium on Ostracoda (20th ISO) will be held in Beijing, China, from August 17th to 21st, 2026.

The habitable Earth and its evolutionary history are major scientific issues of common concern in the fields of Earth science and life science. Ostracoda is the most widely distributed biological group with calcareous shells on earth, playing an irreplaceable role in revealing the evolution of the Earth’s ecosystem in modern and geological history. The theme of the ISO 20 is “Ostracoda: A key of the habitable Earth”.

We cordially welcome scientists and researchers worldwide working on ostracods to join this prestigious gathering.
